Beautiful Girls - Winnie The Pooh

If only sleazy guys everywhere were as noble as Timothy Hutton. Beautiful Girls is one of my favourite movies. It even has a little 90s "let's talk about issues" crap that strangely doesn't ruin it.

This is such a lovely scene:

No Nazi's In Punk

If only Johnny Adair and his Oi band had taken the hint.

Thursday 21 October 2010

North and South - Tarantino's New Star

Remember this bunch? Oh dear, sad to say I bought the single. It takes me back and it is a strong counter-argument against Phil Jupitus being cool

Tuesday 19 October 2010

Pong - Classic Game

If you're having trouble getting to sleep at night watching this classic video game will do it for you. It's strange to think that this was once cutting edge. It's like comparing laser beams and scissors:

Yawn

Wham Rap

With rising unemployment and the Tories not caring that they're fucking everyone up this song could have been written for these times. Unfortunately this was the last Tory government over twenty years ago.

It's not going to be as fun this time around. Those Tories always spoil it.

Some Days You Just Can't Get Rid of a Bomb - Classic Batman

Christopher Nolan and his emo WWE voiced Batman can fuck off. I didn't say it first but I've said it again. Here's Adam West showing how it's done:

Saturday 9 October 2010

The Drums - Don't Be A Jerk Johnny

Here's what I'm currently shaking my ass to. They're coming to Belfast soon. I'll have to get my hands on a ticket.

Thursday 7 October 2010

Gerard McKeown - The Beautiful Goth

What a better way to celebrate national poetry day than with a video from one of Northern Ireland's best poets:

Wednesday 6 October 2010

Nadine Coyle - Instaiable

This is the new single Insatiable from Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle. The song is class, and Nadine always had the best voice in the band by miles.

Tiger Woods gets Deep Like a Bell End

This is Tiger Woods and his da Earl Woods having a chat from beyond the grave about Tiger's infidelity on his wife. This conversation never took place in real time and it probably saved Tiger's sponsorship deal.

Good old Earl.

Who the fuck does Tiger think he is?

Intermission - Opening Scene

This is the first scene in the brilliant Intermission. It's an Irish film made just when Colin Farrell's career was talking off and before Cillian Murphy's had. It's worth the effort to find it. Very funny, as you can see from the opening scene:

Saturday 18 September 2010

John Berryman - There Sat Down, Once, A Thing On Henry's Heart

I came across the work of poet John Berryman a few years ago browsing in a charity shop. He's know much known and deserves more recognition:

In case you're wondering it's that really great bookshop on North Street in Belfast.

Sunday 12 September 2010

How To Be A Dickhead

This is a meme doing the rounds at the mo, enjoy it before you see it everywhere.

Tuesday 7 September 2010

Nazi's, UFOs, Tesla

Do I need to give an introduction?

Wednesday 1 September 2010

Sex Talk With A Hooker

There are some things you just need to go to a prostitute for:

I hope someone said yes, in the end.

Saturday 21 August 2010

Die Antwoord - Enter The Ninja

Never have I been so confused about whether something is a pisstake or not and what to do about it:

Answers on a postcard please.

Big Trailer

I remember it being more scary as a kid:

If you want to see some great film reviews go to Unwatched Film Reviews

Saturday 14 August 2010

John Cooper Clarke - Beasley Street

You just have to love punk poet John Cooper Clarke. Still ahead of his game:

A Classic!

Saturday 7 August 2010

Bad Rainbow

Of course it was all about dicks and fannies. I didn't get it at the time but I do now.

One More Match

Who doesn't want this? Not me (as in I'm not one of the people who don't want it. I do want it so much.) Though Beth Phoenix could kick all their asses.

Tuesday 6 July 2010

Kookaburra Sits in the Old Gum Tree

Aussie eighties band Men At Work have been ordered to pay royalties from their 1983 hit Down Under after the people who own the copyright of the song below Kookaburra Sits in the Old Gum Tree successfully sued them for plagiarism.

I think I prefer the Men At Work version.

Sunday 4 July 2010

Big Boi - Shutterbug

I'm shaking my arse to this all the time. You can too:

Wednesday 30 June 2010

Fly Postering in Belfast

Here's what happened North Coast band team fresh on their days flypostering in Belfast.

Watch out for this guy. I think he wants friends but I don't think he knows what to do if he gets them.

Tuesday 29 June 2010

Steptoe and Son Theme Tune

Steptoe and Son was a great show. If you've ever read the story behind the scenes you'll know that it virtually finished Harry H. Corbett's career. Before this he was a respected theatre actor who was dubbed "The British Brando". Him and Wilfred Bramble didn't get on at all.

Wednesday 23 June 2010

Hollyoaks - Sing For England

I don't really like football but I was hoping England were going to lose today. After seeing this I hope that Hollyoaks gets cancelled.

Tuesday 15 June 2010

Monday 7 June 2010

Lisa Mitchell - Valium

I can't get enough of this girl's songs at the moment. I'm jealous too but in a good way.

Saturday 5 June 2010

Shark vs Octopus

Sorry about the voiceover guy, he's pretty annoying. Turn the sound down and enjoy:

I'll post more of the same soon. I could watch these all day.

Monday 31 May 2010

Mick Jackson - Weekend

I was informed by email recently that one of my past posts was factually innaccurate. Mick Jackson who did the original Blame it on the Boogie was not a one hit wonder but infact a two hit wonder. This was his second hit Weekend. Enjoy!

Wednesday 19 May 2010

Kate Rusby - Who Will Sing Me Lullabies

This song is lovely. I put this on a mixtape once but it's a wee bit soppy, at least that's why I argue it all went tits up. Great song though.

Tuesday 11 May 2010

Dawson Sings The Blues

Lots of teenagers used to watch Dawson's Creek. Very few of them made it as far as the last episode. Mostly because it took them a bit of time to work out that Dawson's Creek was a bit gay. This is the exact point at which I turned it over and never turned it back.

No wonder Pacey dumped Andie after this embarrasment of a night out.

Saturday 1 May 2010

Twin Peaks - Fire Walk With Me

This is one of the best pieces of music I've ever heard in a movie. It's from the movie Fire Walk With Me which is a prequel to the cult series Twin Peaks.

Thursday 22 April 2010

Mick Jackson - Blame It On The Boogie

Apparently this guy was here first. Who knew?

I watched a documentary the other night about how this guy's career never really took off because of the Jacksons but it stopped their careers going down the plug hole.

A trade off of sorts.

Saturday 17 April 2010

Dick and Dom Are Genius

Has there ever been a better TV show for kids? I was slightly too old the first time these two were on but now I'm at uni I'm the right age for it. That's why I'm glad it's making a welcome return to Saturday morning TV. Hooray!

Tuesday 13 April 2010

The Scarecrow - League of Gentlemen

I've been re-watching The League of Gentlemen recently. I loved how bleak the humour was. I'd completely forgotten about this scene. How creepy?

Saturday 10 April 2010

Monday 5 April 2010

If you haven't seen these guys I don't know where you've been. He could kick anyone's ass (apart from Beth's).

Saturday 3 April 2010

Beth Phoenix Kicks Ass

I only wish I was as strong as Beth Phoenix. There's a whole list of boys who'd be going up in the air.

Thursday 1 April 2010

Franz Reichelt at the Eiffel Tower

This guy was testing out his new parachute coat (not taking the piss) in what is probably one of film's earliest virals.

Tuesday 30 March 2010

Tuesday 23 March 2010

Thursday 11 March 2010

Tim Key

I love Tim Key on the Charlie Brooker Show. Here he is practicing his routines

Saturday 16 January 2010

Darren Hayes - Crush

More time needed on the "cool face" less time on the arcade machines me thinks:
