If only sleazy guys everywhere were as noble as Timothy Hutton. Beautiful Girls is one of my favourite movies. It even has a little 90s "let's talk about issues" crap that strangely doesn't ruin it.
This is such a lovely scene:

Wham Rap
With rising unemployment and the Tories not caring that they're fucking everyone up this song could have been written for these times. Unfortunately this was the last Tory government over twenty years ago.
It's not going to be as fun this time around. Those Tories always spoil it.

Tiger Woods gets Deep Like a Bell End
This is Tiger Woods and his da Earl Woods having a chat from beyond the grave about Tiger's infidelity on his wife. This conversation never took place in real time and it probably saved Tiger's sponsorship deal.

Intermission - Opening Scene
This is the first scene in the brilliant Intermission. It's an Irish film made just when Colin Farrell's career was talking off and before Cillian Murphy's had. It's worth the effort to find it. Very funny, as you can see from the opening scene:

John Berryman - There Sat Down, Once, A Thing On Henry's Heart
I came across the work of poet John Berryman a few years ago browsing in a charity shop. He's know much known and deserves more recognition:

Kookaburra Sits in the Old Gum Tree
Aussie eighties band Men At Work have been ordered to pay royalties from their 1983 hit Down Under after the people who own the copyright of the song below Kookaburra Sits in the Old Gum Tree successfully sued them for plagiarism.

Steptoe and Son Theme Tune
Steptoe and Son was a great show. If you've ever read the story behind the scenes you'll know that it virtually finished Harry H. Corbett's career. Before this he was a respected theatre actor who was dubbed "The British Brando". Him and Wilfred Bramble didn't get on at all.

I was informed by email recently that one of my past posts was factually innaccurate. Mick Jackson who did the original Blame it on the Boogie was not a one hit wonder but infact a two hit wonder. This was his second hit Weekend. Enjoy!

Dawson Sings The Blues
Lots of teenagers used to watch Dawson's Creek. Very few of them made it as far as the last episode. Mostly because it took them a bit of time to work out that Dawson's Creek was a bit gay. This is the exact point at which I turned it over and never turned it back.

Mick Jackson - Blame It On The Boogie
Apparently this guy was here first. Who knew?
I watched a documentary the other night about how this guy's career never really took off because of the Jacksons but it stopped their careers going down the plug hole.
A trade off of sorts.

Dick and Dom Are Genius
Has there ever been a better TV show for kids? I was slightly too old the first time these two were on but now I'm at uni I'm the right age for it. That's why I'm glad it's making a welcome return to Saturday morning TV. Hooray!
